Pharmacist SupportSumatriptan belongs to a group of medicines called triptans (or 5-HT1 agonists) used to treat migraine headaches. It works by reversing the temporary widening of blood vessels in the head that causes migraine pain and symptoms like sensitivity to light and sound.
Dosage:
- Take one tablet as soon as the migraine starts
- Can be taken with or without food
- Do not take more than 300mg in 24 hours
Active Ingredient: Sumatriptan 50mg.
Other Ingredients: Lactose monohydrate, microcrystalline cellulose, croscarmellose sodium, magnesium stearate, titanium dioxide (E171), iron oxide red (E172), iron oxide yellow (E172).
Take one tablet as soon as possible at the first sign of a migraine headache. Swallow whole with water. If symptoms return, a second tablet can be taken after at least 2 hours. Max 300mg in 24 hours. Do not take a second dose if the first tablet did not work.
